Ans: Dear Mr. Mithun, Yes of-course 24Mantra Organic in not supporting GMO foods to cause any diseases. GMOs, or genetically modified organisms, are plants, animals or microorganisms whose genetic makeup has been artificially modified to create combinations and crossbreeds that do not occur naturally. Organic food does not allow GMOs to be used during cultivation or processing. Food that contains GMOs is not certified as 100% organic. If a label claims that a product is 100% organic, it means that the ingredients that went into its making are all organic and GMO-free. There are unexpected effects” and health risks posed by genetic engineering?

Dear Ms. Kavya Most people can reduce their abdominal fat through taking on key lifestyle changes, such as eating a healthy diet packed with lean protein, vegetables and fruit, and legumes, and exercising regularly. Losing abdominal fat, or belly fat, is a common weight loss goal. So here are some lifestyle changes must help you lose belly fat:
Keep moving: Exercise can help reduce your waist circumference. Even if you don’t lose weight, you lose visceral fat and gain muscle mass.
Eat right: Choose a balanced diet that helps you achieve and maintain a healthy weight. Avoid products that seem to encourage belly fat deposition, including trans fats (hydrogenated vegetable oils) and fructose-sweetened foods and beverages.
Eating fewer carbs is a very effective way to lose fat. Just avoiding the refined carbs like sugar, candy, and white bread should be sufficient, especially if you keep your protein intake high.
Eat More Fiber: The best way to get more fiber is to eat a lot of plant foods, including vegetables and fruit. Legumes are also a good source.
Exercise Regularly: Exercise is among the best things you can do to increase your chances of living a long, healthy life and avoiding disease. Aerobic exercise like walking, running, and swimming can allow major reductions in abdominal fat.
Hope the above answer will help you to understand. In case if you would like to have more information, we are happy to address your queries.

Dear Aysha, There are different ways that organic farming counter climate change:
Organic farming is nature friendly
Agro- chemicals are not used in farming.
It protects soil, water, air, microbes and animals. (Environmental friendly)
The practices cut Green House – Gas emissions.
High soil organic matter content helps to prevent Nutrient and water loss.
This makes soil more resilient to soil degradation process.
Thus organic farming helps farmers adapt to climate change.

Dear Aysha, yes we can help local farmers by choosing organic food, Farmers have to work harder and take more risks to produce high quality organic products and the one who is procuring from the local farmers can pay a premium amount to the farmers. This helps them earn a better livelihood as well as keep growing 100% organic food for all of us. As a consumer, you might end up paying a premium for high quality food products which in most cases is less than the cost of one movie outing for you and your family. Surely, it is not a big price to pay. When you buy organic food, you are not just buying good health for your family but, you are also contributing towards a better livelihood for our small and marginal farmers across India. The next times you buy organic food remember, you are not just adopting a safer lifestyle but also promoting environmentally sustainable processes for a better tomorrow. Hope this satisfies your query, if you have any other questions, please let us know.

Dear Aysha, When choosing an organic food brand, you need to look for the following:
NPOP logo
NOP- USDA Organic
EU – Agriculture
Jaivik logo as mandated by FSSAI*
Name of the certification agency
These logos will be printed only on those organic food products, which have been certified as organic by the regulatory authorities. You need to ensure all of them are present while buying the organic food product of your choice. Also check the company’s sourcing system. Does the company source directly from farmers or middlemen? Given that India has mostly small farms averaging about 5 acres sourcing directly from farmers becomes very important to ensure organic integrity.
Organic certification is a process that helps producers of organic food and other organic agricultural products to get their products certified through internationally accredited certification bodies such as Control Union, Onecert, IMO, Indocert etc. Organic certification is intended to assure quality and prevent fraud. “Certified organic” label is a product assurance for consumers worldwide.
The standards are laid down and administered in India by APEDA. The standard is called the NPOP – National Programme for Organic Production. Similarly the US standard is called USDA NOP (National Organic Programme) standards and the European Union standards are specified by regulation EC 834/2007
At 24 Mantras farming projects, products and processing facilities have been certified for EC 834 / 2007 standards, US NOP and Indian NPOP organic standards. Most of the projects are certified by Control Union International, and Onecert. We are a member of IFOAM and are registered with US FDA. I hope you are satisfied with the above response. In case you would like to have more information, we are happy to address your queries.

Dear Aysha, Yes fenugreek seeds aid weight loss by reducing fat accumulation, suppressing appetite, improving metabolic rate and enhancing digestion. Fenugreek seeds are highly nutritious and have high fiber content. One teaspoon (3.7 g) of fenugreek seeds provides 0.9 g of protein and 1 g of fiber. The main dietary fiber present in fenugreek (methi) seeds is galactomannan, which was shown to inhibit fat accumulation. Obesity is the most talked about marker of metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance. Fenugreek not only slows gastric glucose absorption but improves cellular uptake of glucose as well. Because of its high fiber content, fenugreek consumption with meals increased satiety, causing participants to eat less. I hope you are satisfied with the above response. It would be my pleasure to know how more we can assist you.

Dear Aysha, that’s a very interesting question about jaggery; whether it’s organic or conventional; Jaggery is less refined when compared to sugar and retains a lot of essential nutrients such as potassium, iron and calcium. But that doesn’t mean a person with high sugar level can eat jaggery. Its brown color may seem healthy but for a diabetic patient, it is not a healthy choice as it has a high Glycemic index value (84). Jaggery does help in fighting oxidative stress and maintains blood pressure because of its iron content, but if you’re a diabetic, jaggery should be out of your food limits. I hope you are satisfied with the above response. It would be my pleasure to know how more we can assist you.

Dear Aysha, The easiest way to take wheat grass is in a glass of water. Mix wheat grass powder in a glass of water and stir it. You can even add some lemon for extra flavor. Wheat grass has a pleasant and sweet taste which gives you a refreshing feeling. In order for it to be effective drink a glass of water mixed with wheat grass early in the morning. Drinking a glass of wheat grass water an hour before meals is also beneficial. It gives you a feeling of satiety which discourages over-eating. Hope this satisfies your query, if you have any other questions, please let us know.

Dear Aysha, yes of coarse organic farming helps us to improve our health as the term “organic” refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed. Chemicals such as synthetic fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides are widely used in conventional agriculture and residues remain on the food we eat. So how your food is grown or raised can have a major impact on your mental and emotional health as well as the environment. Organic foods often have more beneficial nutrients, such as antioxidants, than their conventionally-grown counterparts and people with allergies to foods, chemicals, or preservatives may find their symptoms lessen or go away when they eat only organic foods. Most of us have an accumulated build-up of pesticide exposure in our bodies due to numerous years of exposure, which lead to health issues such as headaches, birth defects, and added strain on weakened immune systems. I hope you are satisfied with the above response. In case you would like to have more information, we are happy to address your queries.

Dear Aysha, Organic farming is pro-farmers. P. P. Reddy, former director of Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, had stated that organic farming can minimize crop loss caused due to nematodes (a type of parasitic worms). Secondly, over time, the chemicals from synthetic pesticides and herbicides, damage the soil quality and fertility which, in turn, affects the crop’s yield. With 58% of the villagers dependent on agriculture for livelihood, and 60% of India’s land being cultivable, organic farming seems to be one of the ways of improving the farmer’s finances. I hope you are satisfied with the above response. In case you would like to have more information, we are happy to address your queries.

Dear Aysha, that as interesting question; yes, Jaggery has enormous health benefits which make it the ideal sweetener as compared to sugar. Just 10 grams of it contains 38 calories and has 9.8 gram of carbohydrates, 9.7 gram of sugar, 0.01 gram of protein, choline, betaine, Vitamin B12, B6, folate, calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, selenium, and manganese. It has no traces of any kind of fat so one can readily add it to their diet without worrying about excessive fat intake. The presence of potassium and sodium in jaggery helps maintain acid levels in the body. This, in turn, maintains normal blood pressure levels. So if someone suffers from high or low blood pressure, including it in their diet would be of great help. For people suffering from arthritis or any kind of pain in the joints, the consumption of jaggery can provide immense pain relief. When eaten with ginger, the effectiveness only improves. However, its sugar content is similar to that of white sugar, so patients suffering from diabetes should avoid over consumption. Hope this satisfies your query, if you have any other questions, please let us know.

Dear Aysha, Yes of coarse eating a healthy organic diet helps elderly in reducing the incidence of chronic diseases. Eating wholesome, natural foods can prevent, delay or even possibly reverse chronic illnesses older people have. Eating more organic fruits, vegetables, whole grains and beans, and reducing the amount of meats and dairy products consumed, has been scientifically proven to lessen the risk (and pain) of certain diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease and dementia. All of these chronic illnesses have inflammation in common, which worsens when people consume animal proteins found in meats and dairy products, Instead, people can incorporate broccoli, beans, bananas, quinoa, sweet potatoes and nuts or hummus into their diets. Apart from this there are certain life style modifications to be done which are as follows:
Avoid Tobacco Use
Maintain a Healthy Weight
Maintain Daily Physical Activity and Limit Television Watching
Eat a Healthy Diet
I hope you are satisfied with the above response. In case you would like to have more information, we are happy to address your queries.
